Former President Barack Obama filled out his bracket again this year. He had a championship game that I would have never imagined possible. He picked a North Caroline vs. Duke championship game. Think about that for a second, one of the biggest rivalries in all of sports in a National Championship Game. As if the regular season games don’t mean enough, this would be just too much to handle. But, if you think about it again, THIS COULD HAPPEN. North Carolina and Duke are two of the best teams in the country. The odds of this actually happening are very, very low. But, it’s fun to think about.
Also, President Trump elected not to fill out a bracket this year. Probably a good idea…
The Nike Vapormax, like walking on air… literally.
Releasing March 25th, Nike claims the Vapormax to be the lightest Air Max shoe they have ever created. With an all flyknit upper, this shoe combines two of Nike’s biggest innovations, Flyknit and Air Max. Honestly I am not the biggest fan of the Air Max line. It’s not that I don’t like the shoes, they are just not really my style. With that being said, I love flyknit. Combining the two makes for an interesting shoe. To be honest, I don’t think this shoe is very aesthetically pleasing. It looks a little bit futuristic and a little too flamboyant for me, although all the colorways have been very basic so far. Which was something that Nike wanted to emphasize with the shoe. Not having flashy colorways and going back to the basics in regards to colorways. Reviews of the shoe have shown that the shoe has amazing cushion, but not a lot of support. Yup, that seems about right. If you’re looking for a shoe with lots of support, flyknit is not the way to go. If you’re a runner who does not need a lot of support for your ankles and you like a lot of cushion, this is the shoe for you.
Today marks two years from the day that Kendrick Lamar released the album “To Pimp a Butterfly”. A classic album? Possibly. A piece of art? Definitely. An acquired test? For sure. Kendrick Lamar is possibly the most respected rapper in the industry. And for good reason, Kendrick isn’t about all the drama and social media and the politics of the rap game. Ever since Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse, no one has messed with him. “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City” is my favorite rap album of all time. There are a few albums that I can play and skip exactly 0 songs, GKMC is one of those. Kendrick cemented himself in the game with that album and To Pimp A Butterfly vaulted him to the top for good. His somewhat mysterious “Untitled Unmastered” release in 2016 seemed a little unnecessary. I enjoyed it, but I don’t think many did unless you’re a hardcore Kendrick fan. Something tells me that the next project Kendrick puts out will be special. He has been so quiet for the past year that he has to be whipping up something for us.
No rush, Kendrick. I’m just saying.
