3/22/17-A Very Sweet Sixteen, Jordan 11 Low UNC, More Life: Passionfruit

Yesterday I previewed the sweet sixteen match ups in the East Region, read that here. Today, I’ll be previewing the games in the West Region. Let’s get right in to it.

West Region

1 Gonzaga vs. 4 WVU

It is very, very tempting to go with Press Virginia here. But I think this Gonzaga team will be too much for the Mountaineers to handle. But I expect WVU to hang with them and not go down without a fight. I won’t be surprised to see an upset here, but I’m taking big Karnowski the Zags.

11 Xavier vs. 2 Arizona

Once again, it is very tempting to go with the underdog here in Xavier, but I just don’t see it happening. Xavier is the highest seed left in the tournament at 11. I guess that makes them the Cinderella of 2017? Xavier as a Cinderella team doesn’t seem right. Trevon Bluiett of Xavier has carried them up until now, and it’s going to take another great performance from him to beat the Wildcats. I think Bluiett has another great game, but it’s not enough. Give me the Wildcats.

Just in time to celebrate the Tar Heels 2017 National Championship (knock on wood) we get the Jordan 11 Low UNC. Or is the Columbia?  Whatever you want to call it, it’s a beautiful shoe. What’s crazy is that it will look even better in person. This is the perfect shoe for a North Carolina fan, which is why it’s so tempting to spend that $175 for me. There isn’t much to say about this shoe. Other than it’s the perfect white/light blue low top shoe for this upcoming Spring and Summer.

These are set to release April 15th.

It’s been about four days since More Life released, and I’m struggling to get past about the first 12 songs on the album. The good thing about this is that the first 12 or so are mostly really good songs in my opinion. The bad part is that there are 10 more songs I need to dive into. Now that I think about it, that’s not a bad thing at all…

Ahhh… Listening to this song is like drinking a nice refreshing (insert tropical drink of your choice here) on the beaches of Jamaica. Drake is piggybacking off of the success of “One Dance” with this one and recreating the vibe in a slightly different way, and I can’t get enough of it. Passionfruit seems to be garnering the most commercial success of all the songs on the playlist right off the bat. I expect this song to be all over the radio the next few months. I’ve heard a couple people complaining about the sample of Moodymann at the beginning of the song and that it almost ruined the song for them. I even read a review where the writer cited this as one of the main reasons that he didn’t like More Life as a whole and that it was Drake being pretentious. Whatever… I don’t mind it. In fact, I like it. I don’t know why I like it, I just do. I think it’s his deep and soothing voice. I don’t even care about what this song is about, I think it’s long distance relationships or something like that. It’s all about the vibe with this one and I’m loving it.

Coming soon to a radio near you… Passionfruit.
